Summary - The Children’s Museum is searching for Facilities and Events Technician to help us achieve our mission of inspiring growth in all children by engaging families in learning through play. This is a full time position with benefits that reports to the Facilities and Exhibits Manager.

Job Responsibilities 

This position is responsible for repair and maintenance of the buildings at our Downtown and Chesterfield locations. Facilities responsibilities include: light electrical and plumbing maintenance, repair and maintenance of Museum exhibits, landscaping, cleaning, and other general labor support. This position is also responsible for executing on and offsite event setup, cleanup, and associates tasks.

Qualifications 

Candidates should have a demonstrable passion for the mission and work of the Museum and a strong desire to make a difference in their community. Successful candidates will have strong communication and interpersonal skills and have the ability to work with others from diverse backgrounds. Candidates should have excellent problem solving abilities and have excellent customer service skills.

Experience in light construction or in a general labor role is required. Experience with HVAC, electrical, or plumbing work is highly desired. Experience providing a high level of customer service and acting as an ambassador for an organization is required. Candidates should be able to use power tools and have knowledge of general safety practices.

 Candidates should have a valid unrestricted driver’s license with clean driving record and the ability to pass a background check. This position requires extensive walking, standing, lifting up to sixty pounds, and occasional use of tools. Occasional night or weekend hours may be required.
