VAM Scholarships
VAM's scholarships helps to fund registration costs for VAM members and students who would otherwise be unable to attend the annual conference. Financial assistance will be given to three applicants this year and includes 100% coverage of conference registration (does not include evening events, additional tickets or hotel). All awards are made through a competitive process, and are based primarily on demonstrated financial need.
Applicants for this scholarship should fall into one of the following categories:
- A current member of VAM
- A museum studies student
- A new museum professional

Peninsula Museums Forum Annual Scholarship
This scholarship provides financial assistance to members of our local museum community, studying or working in the Virginia Peninsula, who wish to attend the annual conference. Financial assistance will be given to two applicants this year and includes coverage of full conference registration rates. VAM members and non-members are welcome to apply. There are no age or experience restrictions regarding these scholarships - all are encouraged to apply.
Applicants who are working, volunteering, studying museum-related fields, etc. in the following Virginia Peninsula Areas will be given precedence: Smithfield, Williamsburg, Yorktown, Jamestown, Gloucester, Hampton, Newport News, Fort Eustis, and Poquoson.

Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteers are imperative to the success of VAM's annual conference. Volunteer opportunities are open to all interested in helping. Volunteers are needed to assist with registration, evening events, sessions and more.
The member rate is $375, but if you choose to volunteer, you will save over $200 and pay the discounted rate of $150.
Volunteers will be expected to work 6 hours during the conference. If you are interested, please fill out this application. Please note that the deadline to apply is February 9 and selected applicants will be contacted via email. Let's make VAM's 2024 conference a success together!
