Position Title - Security Supervisor

Compensation - $16-18/hour

Job Type - part-time; non-exempt

Summary - The Security Supervisor position is highly visible, serves as part of Operations & Finance and is responsible for providing and supervising security for the VMHC properties throughout buildings and grounds. 

Job Responsibilities - 

• Secures premises by patrolling campus and access points, permits entry into the buildings and ensures the security, safety and well-being of staff and visitors; informs violators of policy and procedures
• Monitors security risks to the campus and patrons and reports potential problems to the Director of Facilities
• Monitors security cameras, alarm and fire systems
• Supervises and coordinates schedules for all Security Officers
• Ensures operation of all security equipment to include preventive maintenance and troubleshooting malfunctions
• Writes correspondence including logs and reports; maintains documentation pertaining to security and emergency training and accident and incident reports
• Escorts and monitors all contractors, vendors and visitors in non-public areas
• Responds to emergencies to provide necessary assistance to staff and visitors
• Receives and notifies departments of deliveries; processes and delivers mail and packages
• Assigns post orders and updates daily procedures
• Adheres to and implements policies & procedures of the security and maintenance departments
• Performs other duties as assigned 

Qualifications -

• Works well under pressure and with limited supervision
• Excellent customer service; must be able to project a certain level of hospitality
• Ability to maintain professional composure
• Professional appearance is required 

Education & Experience Requirements - 

• High school education
• Computer experience preferred
• 3 years security supervision experience preferred
• Ability to pass and maintain the Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services registration for unarmed security officers 

Notes & Special Requirements -

• Ability to work a flexible/rotating schedule that may require early morning, evening and weekend hours
