Job Description:

The Virginia War Memorial has the mission to honor those Virginians that have died in our nation’s wars, preserve their history, educate, and inspire Patriotism.
The Facilities Manager will oversee the daily operation and maintenance of the Virginia War Memorial facilities. Monitor all issues, functional and cosmetic, to ensure that the War Memorial looks and operates as well as possible. Establish maintenance plans and work with Department of General Services (DGS) to coordinate all landscaping, maintenance requirements, and projects. Oversee security and housekeeping contracts with DGS and report shortcomings. Emergency response liaison with Department of Veterans Services (DVS.) Responsible for set up and take down for all Virginia War Memorial public events.

Minimum Qualifications:

- Significant experience working in facilities management and maintenance.
- Ability to identify and troubleshoot basic maintenance, landscaping, and irrigation issues.
- Experience working as the member of a team.
- Superior organization, planning, decision-making, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to conduct set up and take down of equipment.
- Experience interacting with customers and/or visitors.
- Familiarity with our military and veteran communities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Outlook.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Associates degree preferred.
