Position Title – Development Associate

Salary - $20.00/Hourly

We are seeking a talented Development Associate to support and assist the Development Team through data entry and processing, event assistance and office support.
Principal Job Functions:
Database Support:
  • Process gifts, generate and mail acknowledgement letters, and donor club cards in a timely manner
  • Ensure that all donor acknowledgement templates remain up to date in the database
  • Maintain accurate and correct constituent records
  • Set up pledges and matching gifts in donor records in database
  • Assist with ongoing data hygiene projects
Event Support:
  • Provide support for donor cultivation and fundraising events to include: recording information in Raiser’s Edge database, mailing invitations as needed, creating nametags
  • Work occasional evening events. Assist with check in, event set up/breakdown, tasks during event and coordination of follow up materials.
Development Office Support:
  • Assist with copying, filing, and scanning gift documentation and correspondence.
  • Assist with state fundraising registration process.
  • Assist with Annual Fund mailings to include targeted data pulls, mail merges, and mail assembly.

This is a part-time wage position and is limited to 1,500 hours of work in the twelve month period beginning May 1, through April 30. No state benefits are provided.

Minimum Qualifications
Required knowledge, skills, abilities and or competencies required to successfully perform work;

  • Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion
  • Motivated self-starter able to work independently in the execution of their responsibilities while collaborating with other staff
  • Participate in regular ongoing professional development
  • Must be adaptable and open to evolving job responsibilities
  • Must be available to work some evenings outside of normal business hours

Proficiency in Google Suite, Microsoft Office Word mail merges and Excel

Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree preferred and/or 1-2 years of related professional experience, preferably in a non-profit organization.
  • Demonstrated experience with Raiser’s Edge or Altru preferred or another fundraising CRM database.
