Job Description - Act as costumed Museum demonstrator, interpreter and teacher to communicate historical information to the public and schools, demonstrate historic handcrafts and trades (such as woodworking, blacksmithing, textiles, coopering etc…), perform daily farm and interpretive tasks such as animal care, garden and field work, general site maintenance, and cooking. Work some weekend days, holidays and occasional evening shifts to provide seven-day coverage.

Minimum Qualifications - Experience in historic trades and handcrafts, music performance and historic instruments, museum interpretation, K-12 education or other direct work with the public; also dependable, mature, with positive people and customer service skills. The successful candidate should be able to work in outdoor and farmsite environments in all weather, walk distances of 2 miles or more daily, be able to lift up to 40 lbs unassisted and participate in farm work on a daily basis. Ability to wear full historic period costume as directed.

Preferred Qualifications - Costumed living history work experience preferred. Ability to demonstrate historical handcrafts or trades and/or the ability to perform period vocal or instrumental music is preferred, as is prior experience in living history education or similar job. A bachelor’s degree in history, education, anthropology, the arts, social sciences or related field is preferred.
