Professional Bio
Elaine McFadden is the Director of Development at the Library of Virginia Foundation, where she leads philanthropic initiatives supporting the preservation and sharing of Virginia’s history, government, and peoples. Previously, she served from 2008 to 2020 in many fundraising roles including Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations at the Virginia Museum of History and Culture. Elaine holds a bachelor’s degree in history from James Madison University and a Master of Public Administration from Virginia Commonwealth University. She has held volunteer leadership roles with the Central Virginia Grant Professionals Association and the American Library Association’s Philanthropy Advisory Group. In her spare time, she enjoys being outside watching her sons play sports, gardening, and dragging her husband to museums when they travel.
