Professional Bio
Karen Daly joined Stratford Hall as President in January 2021, overseeing management of the 2,000-acre historic preserve in the bucolic Northern Neck of Virginia, where the voices of American history still speak. During her tenure Karen has overseen reopening post-pandemic, adopting a new strategic plan, developing a Campus Master Plan, and partnering with regional peers to create a regional commemoration of our nation’s 250th anniversary.
Karen previously served as Executive Director of Dumbarton House, Federal period house museum and headquarters of the National Society of the Colonial Dames of America in Washington, DC. Earlier in her career, Karen taught fourth grade in the DC public schools and worked as a museum educator. Graduating from The College of William and Mary, Karen pursued her graduate study in Museum Education at The George Washington University. When not in residence at Stratford Karen resides in Alexandria, Virginia with her husband, a high school history-teacher, and their two teen children.
