Title: Information Technology Specialist
Division: Operations & Finance
Reports to: Vice President for Operations & Chief Financial Officer
Position Status: Full-time; Non-exempt
Salary Range: $55,000 - $60,000/year
Position summary:
The Information Technology Specialist is responsible for the supervision, implementation and maintenance of technology-related activities for the organization. This position also ensures the secure and effective operation of all computer systems, related applications, hardware and software.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Maintain desktop technology, including PCs, laptops, tablets, mobile devices, printers and other peripheral desktop hardware, software, operating systems, applications and IT services
- Troubleshoot hardware and software issues, network connectivity and on-site server support and maintenance
- Evaluate technology risks; develop a network disaster recovery plan and backup procedures
- Manage audio-visual and phone systems, develop and provide training for system users
- Monitor performance of IT systems to make recommendations for improvements
- Analyze business requirements across the organization to develop solutions for IT needs
- Support implementation of large IT projects and infrastructure
- Manage annual IT budget and ensure cost effectiveness
- Manage office computer equipment moves, repair and maintenance of printers and PCs, and the installation and configuration of desktops and laptops
- Provide IT support for events and lectures
- Remain current with advances in technology and industry best practices
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Necessary:
- Knowledge of computer systems, cyber security, network and systems administration, databases and data storage systems and phone systems to include troubleshooting and install
- Experience with Windows 10, 11 and Apple operating systems. Strong knowledge of MS Office 365 suite, Adobe software and web browsers
- Experience supporting Microsoft Azure, Windows Server, Active Directory and Cloud Exchange environments
- Experience with basic switch and router configuration and administration
- Technical documentation experience
- Thorough understanding of desktop and related peripheral support environment
- Strong, proactive customer service; ability to communicate effectively with staff, guests, vendors and management
- Highly motivated; ability to work independently or in a team setting with limited supervision, while relying on sound judgment to plan and accomplish goals
- Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills
- Project management and time-management skills, and a strong ability to prioritize workflow
Education & Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, information systems or related field, or equivalent experience
- A minimum of two years’ experience in IT operations
