Jarrett Hill

Jarrett Hill originally grew up in Orlando, attending the University of Florida to study History and Russian before moving to Cooperstown, New York to earn his MA in Museum Studies. Jarrett moved to Richmond with his partner in 2024 and has worked with a variety of museums in town, repairing exhibits for the Science Museum of Virginia and leading historic house tours for the Valentine History Museum.

Jarrett brings to Wilton his years of experience in collections and exhibitions, developed as the Head of the Curatorial and Archives Department at the Amelia Island Museum of History. It was on Amelia Island that Jarrett first worked with the Colonial Dames– while the Florida Chapter is headquartered in St. Augustine, Amelia Island’s proximity to both that city and Jacksonville made the museum’s historic jail building a popular event space for the Florida Dames.

While Jarrett has a broad range of historic research interests, he is particularly fascinated by food culture throughout history and how both our tastes and the material culture surrounding mealtime has changed.
