POSITION SUMMARY:

The Parks, Culture and Recreation Division of the Community Development Department is seeking a charismatic, energetic individual to perform complex professional work managing sales operations and revenues for Echo’s, the Manassas Museum Store, City parks, historic sites and programs. The selected candidate will also be responsible for ensuring an exceptional visitor experience.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Job responsibilities include developing store purchasing and pricing strategy and implementing a marketing plan for the Manassas Museum and other park sites; coordinating merchandise and services with exhibit openings, programs and special events; developing new products; overseeing retail operations; developing strategies to expand foot traffic and optimize cost recovery; responding to inquiries for private rental  reservations and booking reservations; ensuring high levels of customers satisfaction through excellent service; and, supervising visitor service aides.  

 

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Retail, Marketing, Tourism or other relevant field; supplemented by a minimum of three years’ experience in progressively responsible positions in visitor services, marketing or sales in a parks, culture, museum or tourism related position or equivalent is required.  Knowledge of point-of-sales systems, record-keeping practices and procedures highly desirable.  Excellent business math skills and writing skills required.  

 

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

Must have a valid Virginia driver’s license.
