Introduction of Collections Care

The Virginia Museum of Fine Arts in partnership with the Virginia Association of Museums will present a one-day workshop on the basics of collections care. Topics that my be discused include: elements of a collections management policy, how to safely label objects, emergency preparedness planning, basic handling and display practices, proper storage practices, environmental monitoring, agents of deterioration and their mitigation.

Guest Speaker: 

  • Senior Conservator, Susan and David Goode Center for Advanced Study in Art Conservation, Virginia Museum of the Fine Arts

Virginia Certificate in Museum Management: 

  • Provides one credit in Collections Managment

This event is held in partneship with the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts
