Tuesday Talk: Foundation of Inclusive Organizations

Our August 4th online chat will continue our conversations on Diversity, Equity, Accessibility, and Inclusion (DEAI) featuring guest facilitators Richard Josey and Veronica Gallardo.  

This series of continued conversations allows us to give attention to the breadth of needs and questions about DEAI work in the museum field. Using research and survey data, the facilitators have identified 7 key characteristics of organizations that promote inclusivity and a sense of belonging. These characteristics, combined with inclusive behaviors, serve as a strong starting point for organizations to identify tangible steps to becoming the workplace of choice for current and potential employees. This chat will consist of a presentation of these characteristics, followed by a discussion with attendees to assess any voids or omissions and identify specific actions organizations can take.
