Central Regional Meet-up at Maymont and Quinn Evans (Richmond, VA)

Wednesday, June 24, 2026
3:00 PM - 7:00 PM (EDT)

Event Details

Join fellow Virginia Association of Museums members for a special regional meet-up at Maymont. The afternoon will begin with a guided tour of the historic Maymont Mansion, where participants will explore the beautifully preserved Gilded Age estate while learning about the mansion’s history and Maymont’s ongoing preservation efforts. Following the tour, attendees will have time to connect with colleagues and enjoy a self-guided stroll along Maymont’s scenic nature trails, gardens, and grounds.

Event Details:

VAM members are invited to a special behind-the-scenes experience at the newly reopened Maymont Mansion. Following a two-year closure for preservation projects, the Mansion has recently reopened to the public. Kathy Garrett-Cox, Curator and Director of Historic Resources at Maymont, will share insights into the restoration work and the history of the estate during this exclusive guided tour beginning at 3pm.

Beginning at 4:30pm, we will move the party to Quinn Evans, an architecture firm (and VAM business member) located at 1840 West Broad St., Suite 400, Richmond, VA 23220 for a Business After Hours member meet-up. Learn about the process and services that the firm provides museums including planning studies, renovations, and new building design. Seltzer, Water, Beer/Wine, and small bites will be provided courtesy of Quinn Evans.

We will end the regional Meet-up across the street at the Savory Grain from 5:30-7:00pm!
