Professional Bio

Kimberly Robinson works as a Staff Curator and Exhibit Planner at Harpers Ferry Center for Interpretive Media (HFC). Prior to joining HFC, she served as a Museum Curator at the George Washington Memorial Parkway (GWMP), a NPS unit in the Washington Metropolitan Area that includes Arlington House, The Robert E. Lee Memorial and Clara Barton National Historic Site.

Kim graduated from the George Washington University’s Museum Studies Graduate Program with a Master of Arts degree with a concentration in Collections Management in 2006. She is Chair of the American Association of State and Local History’s Women’s History Affinity Community and is also a member of their Climate and Sustainability Affinity Community. Additionally, Ms. Robinson is the chair of the Association of Registrars and Collections Specialists Awards Subcommittee. She currently serves as the Vice President for Community Engagement on the Virginia Association of Museums Council. As a former Student Conservation Association intern, her passion for the parks has been the foundation of her career. Her research interests are focused on 19th Century Fine and Decorative Arts as well as architecture, in particular the art, architecture and design of the Victorian Era. Ms. Robinson has given numerous talks on historic homes, furnishings and museum collections management and has taught collections management at the George Washington University. In her downtime, Kim enjoys visiting museums and historic houses, exploring her passion for French language and culture and national/international travel
