Professional Bio

Felicia Abrams is the School Programs Manager at the Jamestown-Yorktown Foundation, where she has spent the past decade shaping meaningful, student-centered learning experiences. A passionate advocate for museum education, Felicia is dedicated to helping both staff and students thrive through innovative, engaging programs that bring history to life and create relevancy to today.

Before joining JYF, Felicia served as Director of Education and Curation at the National D-Day Memorial Foundation in Bedford, Virginia. Her academic path reflects her curiosity-driven approach to history: she earned dual degrees in American Studies (with a concentration in Southern Studies) and American History from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2010, after an early pivot from pre-med sparked by a course examining history through the lens of tobacco. That turning point led to hands-on work in collections and exhibition development at Duke Homestead, as well as cemetery and community research with the Preservation Society of Chapel Hill. She later earned graduate degrees in Museum Studies and American History from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.

Active in the museum field, Felicia regularly presents at professional conferences, including VAM, SEMC, and AAM, and serves on the advisory council for the national Civic Season program. She also shares her expertise as an adjunct professor at Christopher Newport University, where she teaches Introduction to Museum Studies each fall. Across all her roles, Felicia is a strong believer in the power of museums to educate, connect, and strengthen their communities.

Felicia lives in Williamsburg with her husband, their young daughter, and a few cats. A devoted Tar Heel and Disney fan, she enjoys traveling, board games, and spending time with family and friends.
