The Virginia Association of Museums (VAM), in partnership with the Virginia Department of Education (VDOE), invites museum professionals and educators to participate in a hands-on workshop focused on building meaningful collaborations that support Virginia Standards of Learning (SOLs), on-site educational experiences, and digital learning resources.
Led by a panel of museum and education experts, this interactive program will showcase successful partnership models, innovative teaching strategies, and practical approaches for aligning museum resources with curriculum goals. Participants will explore effective collaboration strategies, discover ways to integrate museum resources into classroom instruction, and learn how to design age-appropriate, scaffolded lessons that engage K–12 learners.
Attendees will leave with practical tools and fresh ideas for creating engaging, SOL-aligned learning opportunities that enhance student achievement, strengthen museum-school partnerships, and expand access to high-quality educational experiences.
Join us before the workshop for an optional networking lunch from 11am - 12pm! ($)
