Conference Pop-Up Sessions #VAM2018



Submit an idea now to take part in VAM's inaugural Pop-Up Sessions!


Is there a topic that you'd like to discuss that is not included in the conference program or that has "popped up" since the regular sessions were selected in the summer? VAM's new Pop-Up Sessions offer conference attendees the opportunity to discuss solutions to an issue in the field, introduce new strategies or perspectives, hold a TweetUp, or take a deeper dive into current trends. 

Whatever your idea, bring it! Then let your colleagues choose!  

  • Pop-Up Sessions are one-hour in length and will be held on Monday, March 12 between 4:15pm-5:15pm
  • Submissions should include a simple description of no more than 500 words that explains the content of the session. This text will be used as the description in the online voting page and conference program.
  • While there is no suggested format, please provide an idea of how the session will flow. For example, "moderators will start an open forum conversation about XYZ topic"
  • Since these are intended as conversation starters there will be no audio-visual equipment provided in the meeting rooms but WiFi should be available, although presenters may bring their own equipment for use.
  • If your idea is a resubmission of a proposal that was not selected by the Conference Program Committee, please address the Committee’s suggestions in your proposal.  
  • Those submitting a proposal are expected to serve as contact and help facilitate session as an attendee of the conference.
  • Submissions will be compiled and shared with the membership for an online crowdsourced voting competition between February 20-23. Six entries will be selected to be presented at the annual conference.
  • Deadline for submissions is February 16, 2018.
