The Loudoun Heritage Farm Museum, a nonprofit 501(c)3, is seeking a Volunteer Coordinator and Events Manager. This person will be assisting with the daily operations and management of the museum and will oversee logistics of the museum’s volunteer recruitment, events, and programming.

Duties Assigned Include:

Volunteer Coordination and Front Desk Operations
-Recruits volunteers, coordinates vendors and manages events/programs to ensure an educational experience for visitors of all ages
-Sets weekly volunteer schedules
-Onboard and orientation of new volunteers and employees
-Manages front desk operations, answers phones, and greets visitors
-Oversees Museum Gift Shop merchandise procurement in conjunction with current and special exhibitions

Partnerships, Outreach, and Events
-Seeks out and coordinates partnerships with other community organizations
-Oversees event development in cooperation with partner organizations
-Serves as the museum liaison at partner events throughout the community

Marketing and Social Media
-Maintains and updates museum media contact list
-Creates and implements marketing plan to promote events, exhibits, and educational programs
-Creates and implements social media strategies across multiple platforms
-Updates and maintains website
-Maintains museum mailing list and creates and distributes newsletters using the Constant Contact platform

Other duties as assigned.

-4-year degree
-Excellent organization and time management skills
-Demonstrated leadership skills, creative and enterprising, detail oriented, confident collaborative, high energy, sociable, multi-tasker, ability to inspire others.
-Available to work weekends
-Ability to lift 50 pounds
-Demonstrated ability to work closely with an engaged Museum Director, volunteers, and the community
-Experienced at leading change both organizational, facilities and programming
-Interest in museum management and historic preservation a plus


The position is directly supervised by the Museum Director

30 hours per week at $22 to $25 per hour
