Job Listing: Membership Coordinator - Part Time
James River Writers, Richmond, VA
Literary arts nonprofit James River Writers is hiring a part-time (15/hrs a week) Membership Coordinator to engage and increase our base of nearly 400 members. The Coordinator will work closely with the Executive Director, Program Director, and volunteers to ensure all aspects of membership are implemented smoothly and professionally. Membership efforts include member outreach, tracking and encouraging membership renewals, and enrolling new members. We’re interested in hearing your ideas for diversifying our member base and reaching a wider segment of underserved or underrepresented populations, improving on our robust member benefits, attracting new members, and creating content for our monthly members e-newsletter.
Currently this position is working remotely. Once we are able to meet in person again, candidates should expect weekly in person staff meetings at the JRW office in the Church Hill/downtown Richmond area and will need to be able to attend in-person programs in Richmond and the surrounding area. Otherwise, flexible hours.
$11,700/year with two weeks paid vacation
Candidates should have experience in 1) database management, 2) communicating and working well with a wide variety of people 3) utilizing a computer for e-newsletters, word processing, donor database access, data entry, and accessing the internet, and 4) writing and compiling e-newsletters, reports, and mail merge documents.
Additional Qualifications Desired:
Experience utilizing Little Green Light*, MailChimp, and WordPress
Familiarity with James River Writers programs
Familiarity with Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram
Exceptional writing skills
