JOB LISTING: LIBRARIAN/ARCHIVIST
VIRGINIA STATE LAW LIBRARY - RICHMOND, VA
The Virginia State Law Library has an opening for a Librarian-Archivist! Since the creation of this staff position in 2011, the primary responsibilities have moved from being purely archival to a more "public" facing role. Library staff have assumed responsibility for conducting educational tours of the SCV Courtroom and, in addition to that activity, created the Virginia Appellate Court History website and several photographic exhibits on the first floor of the Supreme Court Building. In June 2018, the court received a $75,000 grant from the Virginia Law Foundation to create a "Judicial Learning Center" in a small room on the first floor. We currently are awaiting responses to our RFP for Exhibit Design, Fabrication and Installation Services and plan to begin work on this project at the end of the year or early in 2019.
