Position Title – Bilingual Family Engagement Manager

Salary - $30,000-$41,000

Job Type - Full-Time

The Children’s Museum of Richmond is searching for a Bilingual Family Engagement Manager to design and deliver quality and engaging educational programs to support the healthy growth of children and families. This manager plays an active role in the community, building relationships with early learning organizations to support the Museum’s mission of serving children and families. This is a full time position with benefits that reports to the Director of Education and is based out of the downtown location.

Responsibilities:

The Family Education Manager leads the development of curriculum in support of strategies for engaging families and caregivers in learning through play and plans and implements family programming and initiatives. This position is responsible for welcoming, encouraging, educating, and engaging with families of all types both in the museum and the community. This individual serves as a role model for caregivers and children on effective adult/child interaction on the museum floor and through various programming and serves as a resource for caregivers, especially supporting parenting topics. The Family Education Manager also is responsible for managing multiple grants simultaneously, including data, reporting, goals, and progress.

Successful candidates will have strong communication and interpersonal skills and have the ability to work with others with diverse backgrounds and education levels. Candidates should have the ability to maintain confidentiality. Candidates should be familiar with the Richmond community and community support agencies. Candidates should also be flexible and adaptable with the ability to adjust teaching styles and plans to fit the needs of the situation.

Skills and Abilities:

Candidates must be bilingual in English and Spanish. Candidates should have a degree in education, social work or other relevant field. Candidates should have experience teaching adult learners, and have strong knowledge of child development and effective parenting techniques. Candidates should have experience in the evaluation of grant work and should be strong administrators with the ability to manage programs.

Candidates must have a clean driving record and ability to pass a background check. Candidates should have the ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
