Are you a liberal arts major with a lot of interests? Do you enjoy writing? Have you worked in the museum field or are you excited about the idea of integrating text, images, and ideas with three-dimensional exhibitry? Experienced or not, we are looking to add an interpretive planner to our team.

If you say yes to the above and are looking for a position or internship (with the potential to evolve into a longer-term position) as an exhibit content developer at a small exhibit design firm, we’d like to talk with you. We need someone to help research, plan, develop, write, and find images for our exhibits, and help us assemble mailings and proposals. We are open to folks with experience but will also consider junior staff. We are committed to including diverse perspectives in our work and encouraging our clients to do the same.

The Design Minds, Inc. is a full-service exhibit design and development firm. We work with museums, visitor centers, and corporations. Recent and current clients include the Columbus (GA) Museum, the state history museums of Mississippi and Oregon, the National Park Service (various locations, including the Lincoln and Jefferson Memorials), Arlington National Cemetery, and several other cultural history sites. Our work is informed by a commitment to justice, equity, diversity, accessibility, and inclusion.
Minimum Qualifications: Ability to assist with researching, summarizing resource materials, writing/editing, and communicating complex ideas in a straightforward manner. Ability to work on detailed tasks while not losing sight of the big picture an important consideration. Willingness to perform duties supporting a small office—including answering phones, ordering supplies, and pitching in as needed. Potential for a few days a month of travel.
