About The Organization

The Army Historical Foundation (AHF) was established in 1983 as a member-based charitable 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization to raise funds to build the National Museum of the U.S. Army and manage revenue generation operations in the Museum facility. Our funding also helps acquire and conserve Army historical art and artifacts, support Army history educational programs, research, publish historical materials on the American Soldier, and provide support and counsel to private and governmental organizations committed to the same goals.

This position is full-time, and applicants must be willing and able to be physically based at the National Museum of the United States Army in Fairfax, VA but can telework up to two days a week.

About The Position

The AHF is seeking a Development Coordinator reporting directly to the Vice President of Development. This is a full-time position with the expectation of an 8-hour workday. This position is based at the National Museum of the United States Army in Fairfax, VA.

The Development Coordinator (DC) provides administrative support directly to the Vice President of Development and the Major Gifts Team and donor research reports to team members when directed. A successful candidate will have a strong track record of office administrative support, be detail orientated, and have strong time-management skills. The position requires the ability to manage projects and meet deadlines while adhering to the policies of the Foundation, working collaboratively with colleagues, and promoting the mission, goals, and values of the Foundation.

Responsibilities

Provide support of the administrative needs of the Development Department with tasks being assigned by either the Vice President or Major Gifts Team. These assignments include but are not limited to the following:

  • Providing detailed research reports on donors when requested
  • Providing daily research briefings on prospects
  • Maintaining an ongoing updated inscription listing of all Circles of Distinction donors by level and providing to team members every time an update is made.
  • Ensuring that all Circles of Distinction donor account pledge tabs are updated in the database
  • Ensuring that all Circles of Distinction donor inscriptions are accurately recorded under the notes tab in the database
  • Providing monthly invoicing reports to the team for pledge payments and providing invoices when requested
  • Ability to manage projects and meet deadlines while adhering to the policies of the Foundation, working collaboratively with colleagues, and promoting the mission, goals, and values of the Foundation.
  • Providing administrative support when requested and as needed promptly
  • This job is a civilian position and does not require military service (including commission and enlistment).

Qualifications

  • An Associate's Degree and a minimum of 2 years experience in fundraising
  • A high level of interpersonal and relationship-building skills
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
