William King Museum of Art announces the open position of Curator of Fine Art & Craft.

This position manages an annual changing exhibition schedule of approximately eight separate exhibits in two high-security galleries that showcase the art of the world, both contemporary and historic, and contemporary art of the immediate region. Seventy-five percent are conceptualized and organized by WKMA with the balance on loan from other institutions. Additionally, this position has responsibility for a secondary gallery of juried regional art and three small permanent collections. This position oversees the museum's general art history library. It is supported by an exhibition designer/preparator and registrar and works in association with a second exhibition focus on historic regional decorative arts.

This full time position with benefits is available March 1, 2020. Qualified individuals will have a degree in art history or related filed and curatorial experience. The museum is located in Abingdon, Virginia.
