Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Communications, Hospitality and Tourism, Business Administration, or a related field; one year of experience in recreation or related field; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Thorough knowledge of and experience in effective marketing methodologies and techniques, and public relations; of social media management including strategy and ads; of WordPress website management including updates and page creation/editing; in special events planning and management; in volunteer management; and in customer service. The ideal candidate will have experience in the following programs or have ability to learn: Canva; Constant Contact or similar; Donor Perfect donor database; WordPress; Microsoft Office. The ability to work independently and effectively with others. Pre-employment drug testing, FBI criminal background check and education/degree verification required.
Under the supervision of the Henricus Historical Park Administrative Supervisor, the full-time Marketing and Special Events Coordinator will plan, execute, and manage comprehensive and ongoing marketing, communications, and public relations efforts. He/she will manage and regularly update all social media platforms; plan, create, and disseminate museum information and promotional materials including press releases, e-mail newsletters, flyers, social graphics, etc.; proactively solicit, plan, manage and execute public and private events including, but not limited to: weddings, receptions, social events, business meetings, reunions, fundraisers, Hops in the Park beer festival, and others in conjunction with event bookings and the museum’s annual calendar of events; show and promote museum properties to prospective customers; manage film location production rentals; manage all event budgets; actively recruit volunteers for Henricus events; attend bridal shows and other business-relevant events; photograph event activities for promotional use; serves as occasional backup for gift shop; administrative tasks. Flexibility in work hours will be required. Use of a wireless device is required. Perform other work as required.
Monday - Friday; 8:30a.m. - 5:00p.m.; evenings and weekends as required
