Workshop Description:
The historical landscapes of our sites can be wonderful supplementary resources for interpreting our stories and providing context. Whether you have a formal garden, a battlefield, or a surrounding view shed, these spaces can be exciting resources for programming that keep visitors coming back. Take part in an engaging day discussing the various ways in which sites in the Commonwealth of Virginia and the District of Columbia utilize their landscapes. Join us on Tuesday, June 24 as the beautiful and historic grounds of Oatlands become our summer classroom.

About Our Host Site:
A stately mansion, beautiful rolling farmland, exquisite gardens, a repository of more than 200 years of American history and culture - all of these can be found at Oatlands Historic House and Gardens near Leesburg, Virginia. Oatlands is now a National Trust Historic Site as well as a National Historic Landmark and Network for Freedom Site, and flourishes with four full seasons of activities.
